that began changing in the early 1900s, when marie curie won a nobel prize for her work in physics. though she shared the award with her husband, marie went on to prove that she was a world-class scientist all on her own. in fact, she became the first person, male or female, to win two nobel prizes. fast forward to today -- there's now a major effort to get more students interested in s.t.e.m. -- science, technology, engineering, and math. as part of that effort, nicole reports on a website designed specifically for girls.
