marilyn. how do you read that payroll report? marilyn: i agree that it was not that bad.hen you look at the three months numbers, it was averaging about 186,000. over 12 months, north of 200,000. for an economy that has a very tight labor market, you are seeing an increase in hourly wages, which is great. it is good to see that come through. i actually feel it is a positive thing. it is something to be happy about. henry: i believe the wage pressure comment. whether you're talking politics or the economy, the takeaway is that we are bipolar. you are seeing the good data and bad data. that number was fantastic, but we are seeing most of the oecd leaders and leading indicators start to rollover. there is this period where the lack of clarity is striking. the market is in a challenging spot, and you have to look through that. that is a challenging job these days. kevin: in golf, they say every shot makes someone happy. today, if you are the bond bull, you have a 20,000 jobs. if you are a bear, you're got .4 in hourly average earnings. it will take a few more months to sort o

jonathan: do you agree, marilyn? marilyn: yes.f you look at where investors are allocating money, there is a distortion in that investor behaviors have changed. but i actually think we are seeing a lot less crowding them we have. jonathan: i guess what i worry about -- there's a group of investors who think we will have the economic conditions to justify rate cuts. and then there is the third group that goes straight through the first two. no matter what the conditions are, as long as the fed cuts rates, assets will do well regardless of the fundamentals. how dangerous is that group? that is lunacy. the central bank is not there to rescue every single the stake. it's there for support. important to remember that leverage across the board is high, particularly investment grade leveraged loans. the penalty for making a mistake will be much greater than in past cycles. jonathan: we want to get you a market check. we have a really interesting week in the global market. still ahead, the finals spread in the week ahead. we have u.s. ret

marilyn, henry, and kevin.arilyn, i cannot find a single person in fixed income worried about this, that there are 70 people outside of asked income worried. what is the big concern? marilyn: the biggest concern is that we have had a huge increase in the size of the triple b market. it has increased exponentially. as you get to the end of the cycle and rates are known to be high, compared to what went -- what it was before, you could see more default risk and a downgrade. that is not our scenario. we have you seen a huge increase, but when you look at the leverage in those companies and the underlying fundamentals, we still do not see a huge amount of risk. we put a huge amount of work researching them, and i think that statement is the worst case scenario. we do not think you will see this downgrade in terms ofbbb -- in terms of bbb. it is just about being selective. henry: i think there are a few points to make. did a our research team fantastic job looking at this, and they found that a large chunk of the ma

jonathan: joining me is greg, marilyn, and george. let's begin with you. it has been an interesting global bond market rally. does something have to give? >> we have seen a change in terms of central banks. we have seen the complete repricing of the fed. it is very much on hold the rest of this year. the data has been weaker than a lot of people expected. the first quarter is generally pretty weak. you expect the data to start to come down. especially in the u.s.. we have seen a lot of concerns around global growth. central banks do nothing. it is very easily explainable. jonathan: what do you think? >> i think the direction is correct. it has been too extreme. pausing is one thing, we are pricing increasing cuts. that is a much higher hurdle. we are in a low rate environment, flatter curve. or the near-term. we have really pushed it hard. >> could not agree more. what will expectations due to cuts. it is a bridge too far. long-term bridges are coming down. short-term, down too far too fast. one of the big discussion points at the moment is the yield curve
