we hopped on doyle drive on marina boulevard heading north. you can see there's still a slight curve in the road and there are arrows on the pavement warning drivers about that and there's also a new speed limit posted, 35 miles an hour. caltrans wants drivers to take it as ease -- easy as they navigate this highway. there are five lanes of traffic that go across this. but there's a moveable concrete barrier. depending possible the -- we talked to a caltran construction engineer about this 57-hour project. crews worked nonstop and he hopes drivers appreciate the fact that the road is safer and a new, nicer road to drive. >> it opens up to the view to the bay -- to the presidio. so hopefully, they can take some that in. >> reporter: this is what it looks like heading south heading towards the marina into san francisco. drivers are gonna see a lot of the old doyle drive still on the right-hand side. a lot of debris. these concrete sections are off to the side. they are toppled over. that debris is gonna be there for the next couple of months or

this is good news, i saw an incident filed for doyle drive at marina boulevard, but they're confirmingll lanes now open until case folks missed it over the last half hour. doyle drive reopened between marina and the golden gate bridge. and over here, slow your speeds for 680. the southbound side reopened a short time ago. all lanes now reopened. the northbound side has one lane opened and the rest of the folks are off the freeway at sunol boulevard. that changed over the last few, as well. let's get a live look from the chopper over the situation and you see traffic as it now stands. there's the big rig and the cleanup. you see that kitty litter stuff they sprinkle over in a fuel spill. they have to clean that up and the cement from the center divide on the northbound side of 680. one lane gets by, that's a backup for about 1/4 mile. choppers moving to the north. folks coming off the dublin interchange. clear right by the scene, but as you're coming off the dublin interchange passing stone ridge and finally towards sunol. look at all of the folks heading through the area. good thing th

marina. it's happening on beach drive boulevard in edgewater. >> this is as close as we could get. according to the fire officials, this is where we had to park our live truck. firefighters got the call right around 3:00 this afternoon for a brush fire here in this waterfront community, and those flames quickly spread to four alarms. the flames burned this a swampy area here in the shelby on the bay community. they spread through the holiday point marina. we're told one boat was destroyed and an outbuilding. two additional sailboats were also damaged by the flames. it took 94 firefighters, as well as two fire boats, to get these flames under control. we were able to talk to one man who is crediting firefighters with saving his waterfront home. >> this was a close call? >> oh, very close. within about 10 feet of the home. part of it is just luck. if there hadn't been swamp there with water in it, it would have just come straight up to the house and burned it. the siding and everything would have just gone up in flames. >> the weeds coming out of the ground are very dry, and being ne
