san francisco because of the fog keeps it cool in the marina district with upper 60s there and missionistrict at 71. mill valley reaching 76 degrees and 86 today in napa. and then as you check out the 7-day forecast the bottom of the screen, talk about what i've been concerned about basically all week long. seeing the surge of moisture. seeing lightning strikes in parts of the central valley and look at what's happening now in the sierra. no rain. in fact, a lot of rain evaporates before it hits the ground and enough of the moisture and energy in the atmosphere to spark lightning. see near stockton 9:00 this morning. we had three lightning strikes that moved through and then that all kind of dried up. and we didn't see anymore lightning strikes but this is all because of the monsoonal moisture. reversal of the winds. higher humidity and where we see the yellows and reds showing higher humidity. disturbance just offshore and causing that air to rise and may produce more lightning strikes in the day. but of course, keeping you up to date on that. all of the threat of lightning down for t

san francisco keeps it in the low 60s and then marina district. those clouds hang out there and then for the north bay we'll be up to 82 in mill valley. in sonoma today looking at 88 degrees. let's go to santa cruz today. it is going to be so much more comfortable and there's still some clouds. little bit of some clearing for the afternoon. heading into the day tomorrow, clouds that we're seeing with rain and definitely a surge of some higher humidity. we can even see it here as it shows up on satellite imagery. but the computer models have a hard time in the bay area handling monsoonal moisture and what to do with it. we're watching out for the possibility that there could be some storms nearby. and also, some of that rain could evaporate with the layer of dry air just under the clouds moving in and could cause dry lightning and means there's thunderstorms that don't cause any rain it could cause lightning and with that there could be an increased danger of wildfires. looks like that humidity does stay just offshore and we'll be monitoring for th

richmond district and the marina on the san francisco side of the golden gate bridge. water temperatures are cold now, a big difference in the temperatures and look at the monsoon going bonkers down in arizona. mainly the four corners and southern nevada in las vegas, their in the mix as well. southern california dealing after blistering heat dealing with cloud cover and the monsoon, a few clouds drifting up here. 50s and 60s on your temperatures doesn't take long for inland areas to warm up. wood side has dipped to 49. half moon bay, 51 degrees and mid 50s to low 50s. fremont is also 55. no doubt about it, there was a wind in the bay and airfield. now things are really calming down. 51 to buoy and san francisco. still cold so fog is forming and monsoon moisture creeping along the spine of the sierra. 60s and 70s and 80s. 6:01 more like a regular mo after a holiday week. >> a lot going on in the east bay. highway four at the top of your screen, usual slowing there, 205 from tracy towards the altamont pass in the westbound direction, very congested as well. the new thin
