a lot of concern were raised about views, the impact of developing in front of those marina piers.been a wonderful solution, took a lot of sensitivity on everyone's part to understand those concerns, while at the same time, making sure we've fulfilled the eir. we are working for different sets of hands as we are moving the acr event forward. i want to once again praised mr. barkley's participation. he is learning what it is like to do business with the city. he is learning, has kept a calm approach -- perhaps not at the beginning. there was a high level of anxiety. we have a lot of other decisions that need to be made, so it is my style to make sure that we set a foundation where we can talk with each other and present those challenges so that we can make agreements. each of us gives up something to having said that, this event is moving forward. the cruise ship terminal is moving forward. the races -- you will start to see the smaller boats in august. 8000 jobs. that is not just a promise. that will be a reality here. very soon, you are going to see their activity on pier 80, and

there was an exterior marina on the north side of the pier, a light vessel marina. we found there were non- compliant issues in the existing building. michael contributed to that. is there anything you want to say about existing conditions? >> i want to point out the last permitted application for the ground floor was for restaurant uses. that is not how the spaces were actually utilized. >> there were some construction documents that went to the billing department at the port. permits were issued. the construction that resulted was never completed. they never occupied it as a restaurant. the types of code violations were discovered included fire safety and exiting violations. this is an obstructed egress on the second floor. fire and life safety issues with the doorway with a six-foot opening. it is supposed to be a minimum of 6'8". >> when you modify a building, you cannot have steps in the path of trouble -- travel. there are head clearance issues and others in this one particular area. there were multiple mechanical and blogging code violations. -- plumbing code

pier 3032. and the property at marina green to really create some sfate of the art systems that will treat stone water without it reaching the bay. on air quality, i know this has been a tomic of conversation. i think i should expect some follow-up questions on the air quality piece. but we're planning to install shortsided power at pier 70. this is an-offset measured to make up for the fact that ports shortpower system is going to be off line for two years. while the sight is used for the america's cup village, the event authority has permitted to purr tchass cleanest available boats with the best engines, certified engines. we look closely at other mitigation measures that we could don't to improve air quality associated with the event. and there's a port of l.a. which we had to struggle with our air quality in that air bay sin. i'm not going to dwell on this live. >> i do have a question related to pier 70. >> the language that was in response to her district about the use of pier 70 was that if it was financial feasible. and wondering where we're at with that? it wasn't a certainty of that.
