marin county. let's go to ktvu reporter kraig debro. the chp issued a warning for flooding. we've got our eye on it right now. it doesn't appear to be anything out of the ordinary right now. again, the driving rain is making conditions dangerous. we've also just learned that schools in point pray station, toe mal less and on the coast in invernness have closed because of flooding. earlier this morning on highway 880 in san lee an droa we had a condition. chp got a call that there was flooding. they had reports that a car had hydroplaned and spun out. by the time they got there there was no car. there were three drains that were clogged. they were able to unclog two. but a third drain was still clogged with a lot of asphalt, a lot of debris, a lot of leaves. caltrans worked on the situation. it was cleared up before 6 a.m. this morning. they originally closed two lanes. that went down to one. as of 6:00, all lanes were reopen. highway 101 is starting to gather steam. southbound cars, you can see off

it will look at marin county which includes all the cities within marin county, santa clara county which it also provides services for a number of cities within the county, including los altos, san jose, mountain view, santa clara, gilroy and palo alto. they will look at jurisdictions that use barging techniques and the only jurisdiction in california is l.a. county, so we're going to have them look at a couple of other jurisdictions out of the state as well. and that is part of our r.f.p. which just to take a very brief summary and look at the possibilities of barging for refuse hauling for the city and county of san francisco. the bid by the consultant was -- $27,500 and i think i'll just stop there unless you have any questions for me. chairperson campos: thank you. colleagues, you may recall that at the last lafco meeting we approved to go moving forward with the issuance of this r.f.p. and gave the executive officer the authority to begin the contract negotiations and finalize the contract subject to ratification by this commission. and we have been working very closely with ms. mil

i think it is a loss not for marin county, but for county boards of supervisors throughout the state because he was a real leader. the rest i will submit. thank you. supervisor chiu: colleagues, can we do the in memoriam for our colleague across the bay? without objection, that shall be the case. >> thank you. supervisor campos. supervisor campos: thank you. i do want to thank supervisor mirkarimi for the in memoriam on supervisor mcglashan. i'm glad we are doing it collectively as a board. i also was very struck by the sad news. for those of us who serve with the supervisor on the golden gate bridge board, not only was he a very pleasant individual, but very hard worker, and who really had the best interests of the public at heart. i am reminded in thinking about his accomplishments with the chronicle said about it -- what "the chronicle" said about him, which is that he was an environmental visionary whose efforts from solar, wind, and biomass power into countless homes and businesses. he truly was a visionary, and i think we have a lot to learn from what he was able to accomplish.
