there was a speaker's vote when john boehner was in this position, had it not been for the death of mario cuomomocratic members were at the funeral and could not vote, boehner would have come close to being the first speaker in over a generation to have to go to a second ballot for his election. that's what paul ryan's folks wanted to avoid. that's why he made those overtures to conservatives. that's why they have seemed to back him so far. i was taken aback with two of the members supporting ryan. on that note which i found was fascinating, jose, when john boehner gave his farewell address he had this line that stuck out to me. real change takes time. freedom makes all things possible, but patience makes things real. that's the embodiment of his career, 25 years here on capitol hill, patience, work within the system. that is something that those house conservatives do not understand right now and don't necessarily like. we'll see how ryan deals with that, if he can get them to have some more patience. >> lounuke russert and kelly o'donnell, thank you very much. we'll continue watching what is
