jon: mark brnovich, the attorney general for the state of air tone. thank you. >> thank you, jon.: a hot-air balloon crash kills five people in new mexico. albuquerque police say it happened around 7:00 this morning. christina coleman has more live from los angeles. christina. reporter: hi, jon. we learned a former albuquerque police officer and his wife died in this crash. some of the officers arrived at the scene knew him and worked with him. just a tragic situation. they were two of the five people on board. police say everyone on board died after the hot-air balloon hit some power lines, caught on fire and dropped at least 100 feet into the middle of a busy intersection. the gondola crashed down on the city's westside and envelope of the balloon floated off and landed in somebody's backyard. hot-air balloons can be difficult to control but it is unclear what caused this to happen. here is the albuquerque police. >> this is tragic situation. the officers arrived first on scene. had a tough time when they saw what they saw. these things are horrible everybody time they happen. w
