the lawyer is the democrats hired, mark elias, famously known for putting together the russian dossierdon't have to be a scientist to figure out the fix are is in. connell: what do you say about that, jessica? there are votes, broward county, calls for a recount not only calls of margin, people look at same not votes in senate races they say that is discrepancy. what do you make of what we're seeing in florida? >> there are several different issues. first of all shouldn't be a surprise to anyone we're having issues in such a tight election. we're talking about down to the tiniest of percentages here. we had over 8 million votes total across the state on these, but this is broward county, palm beach, the same place where we had issues in 2000. connell: right. >> the issue we have automatic recounts at .5 percentage we have automatic machine recount. at .25, which is now separating the senate race we have an automatic hand recount. so i'm not surprised there is issues. i'm disappointed there is issues. connell: you would think we cleaned it up. >> not only in these counts, and pros visio

if you took to mark elias who is leading the nelson recount effort they believe it could be considerably more than that. should also point out that in broward county there seem to be a lot of ballots, a lot of ballots where there was a vote cast for governor but no vote cast for senate. now, that could be because of the ballot design, which was rather confusing, but it could also be a machine malfunction. we'll just have to wait and see. >> here's the interesting part. rick scott was pretty happy with it, right? after it was called. >> i would think he would be. >> but then all of a sudden now that it could be headed toward which would be a automatic recount -- >> a manual recount in the senate. >> okay. so if it's headed toward a manual recount, now he is claiming that there's rampant fraud in palm beach and broward counties. what's going on? >> look, they have taken a very long time to count the ballots down in broward county. and the person who's in charge of that voting at the county board, voting county board historically a lot of criticism's been thrown that person's way. but i don

the democrats mark elias, will pull out all the stops to try to get bill nelson over insurmountable humpis opening up new universes of voters. that's what the democrats are in court trying to do is change the rules to allow different groups of ballots that are already passed the deadline come in and expand the universe of possible votes. >> bill: should we know roughly what the answer to that question is, what the number is? >> of course we should. there are 67 counties in florida and in 65 of them they got their votes in in time and able to tell us the universe of ballots out there. only two counties, broward and palm beach county, couldn't get their act together and couldn't give us answers on how many actual ballots there were. but at this point once we got past saturday when the first votes were counted, we have a defined universe unless that gets changed by courts. >> bill: last point here doug schoen writes an opinion piece with regard to the ballot issues. the issues in broward county don't seem to be an issue with ballot counting but human error with the actual ballot lay out. se
