[applause] and the man who supplies most of jefferies client' client becauss -- because he insists on are arresting and prosecuting people. [applause] and then of course there are members of your school board who are here with what jerry brown is doing to them in sacramento on the budget side they certainly will be coming to your door quite often for assistance, so they are here. president of that board -- actually works for you, i do mendozmendoza. cac members, but i want to call the attention to our newest member, just appointed by supervisor mark farrell, and we welcome him to the cac. he has been attending committee meetings for quite some time while pursuing this appointment, so we are especially glad to see him joining the body. he has demonstrated a clear interest in the kind of issues this agency deals with. on behalf of them for us to be able to be included on the bond and oversight committee. me and the former vice chair and current members of the cac, so we are grateful. this is the first time we have been doing these bonds, and we are concerned about a successful launch. this is the power that this m.t.a. board has had, and we want to see it goes well the first time out of the gate. i have several issues for you. the first is on your consent calendar today under a 10.2 k and l, which involves a bus route. we recommend that the cac adopt the plan, adopted two before you today, to move the sunset and the avenue stopped from 19th and lincoln to cross over and martin luther king. we recommend they consider some supplemental light

a couple months after that, mark farrell and i were talking about a tech crunch article that talked about the ludicrous stupidity of a city that enjoyed taxing the stock options of technology start-ups. that has changed. christine olague has worked with low-income communities for years, and i know she is very committed to figuring out how we make sure that latino immigrant who maybe eight years old who lives in her district may someday work at a company like yours. we are committed to being partners with all of you, with our mayer, chief innovation officer, and we have a lot of work to do. we have schools that needs to be fixed, taxis that need to be cut, muni systems the need to be recalled, and i hope ideas on how to changes are here in this room. we look forward to working with you. thank you. [applause] >> sovereign lano county d.a., sonoma county d.a., supervisors mark farrell, malia cohen,were all invited. i hope some are here. members of the council core and our fire chief, our wonderful fire chief joanne hayes-white. i met the person i'm going to introduce next way back in the 1960's and he had tried to buy a house in san francisco in forest noles. and he was refused because of race. and that was a long time ago, but this is a fact and so some of us went out, my daughter who is now a judge was in her stroller and we picketed the developer which was sun stream homes then on 19th avenue and finally that was put to rest. but it gives you and idea of how things change over time and how necessary it is to have people who care about these rights and who were willing to work for these rights. we became fast friends and we have for at least three decades now. i ran for the board of supervisors in 1969, no public official would support me but one. and it was willie brown. and since that time -- [applause] >> i think it's fair to say that willie and i have been fast friends. an

we have president david chiu and the supervisor from district two, supervisor mark farrell. we have a limit of five members who can be here at any one time, we may see people come and go in terms of supervisors to allow for other members to my want to participate in that meeting to be here. in terms of public comment, we will have public comment today but just know that if we do hear this at a committee, at the board there will be an opportunity to speak there. i wanted to make sure people know that. to-hope we will be able to address the outstanding issues and colleagues, we have many of those issues that are outstanding. what i would propose in terms of how we do this is we will open the item up for any members of the board who would like to share in the opening comments. after that i would like to invite monique up from the port to speak about the financial situation. i would like to speak to the fund-raising issues and concerns we had with ecod -- ecoc. i would like to review the economic items on a point by point basis. we have raised issues with regards to workforce is
