this is a part of mayor mark farrell's crackdown. alex savidge has been out there. you're near harrison and 8th. tell us more about what is happening out. >> reporter: the mayor tells me this is a major milestone. this is the last large homeless encampment here in the city of san francisco. it is being cleared out this morning. these are camps with ten or more tents. this one is set up in the alleyway on burick place off of the intersection of harrison and 8th street in the city of san francisco. and you can see that we have public works cruise out here and they are helping folks remove these tents that have been set up here for about the last week or so. a couple of weeks, according to the director of public works. about a dozen or so people have been living here. early this morning, police and public works crews arrived and began moving people out of the area. this is part of an ongoing effort on the part of the mayor's office to remove large tent cities across san francisco. mayor mark farrell was on hand this morning and taking part in the clean-up effort. the m
