i'd like to thank former mayor ed lee, mark farrell, and current mayor london breed. the lower polk community benefit district has served as a fiscal sponsor and mentor throughout this period, particularly christian martin, their executive director, and chris schulman, the president of their board. our staff has been dedicated and working hard, and they have spent weekends and evenings working with the community to help people understand the small of a community benefit district, and to take on above all of the challenges that the community has offered, as well. a person who couldn't be here today who has been very, very helpful is barbara adayo who is a property owner at 1650 jackson and who worked to get the majority of her building to support or to address us. other community benefit district executive directors have been very helpful as well, as have the consultants that were mentioned by chris corgis. i think discover polk is a fantastic idea. we have a wonderful community. it needs to be cleaner, safer, and more vibrant, and i think this is a good way to do it.

she was nominated by former mayor mark farrell, dianne feinstein, as well as george shulze and charlottelze. i'm honored to be working with this chief for so long. she's been a chief for 15 years for this department. it's a tough job. you have to work well with politicians as well as the members, and i think she's done an excellent job. so congratulations, chief. onto my report, operations, for the month of july, there were two greater alarms in the month of july. first one was a second alarm on monday, july 2, 2:52 in the morning. this was in golden gate park, 940 47th avenue. this was the golden gate park, the clubhouse. stand-alone structure, it was fully involved when members got there. they had some problems with water supply. there was just one little low pressure hydrant with low pressure. the police ended up blocking it. sometimes the police meanwhile, when they get there first, they block it. we have worked with them. they understand that -- they need to understand we need access to the streets or any of the roads in front or near the fire buildings, and we also need access to t

office provided a risk-benefit report when the legislation was first introduced by then-supervisor mark farrell's office. you could read the first bullet point, which is a definition of a product labor agreement. in that point, there were four main goals that the legislation was purporting to produce. and there have been amendments to the legislation. an amended version was submitted in the june 20 g.a.o. committee. primarily, the stated goals have been that the p.l.a. will ensure there are no work stoppages, no strikes. that the p.l.a. is purported to help san francisco residents, that it will help veterans and that it will reduce the incidents of wage theft within san francisco. so this is what the p.l.a. is purporting to do. and the small business commun y community, there's a lot of concerns around the project labor agreement. we've had various conditiversat with stake holders. and there are some serious concerns. we'll go back to that greenhouse analogy that i was using earlier. we all live in this greenhouse, this amazing greenhouse, this ecosystem that we have. it's wonderful. we have loca
