we will talk with mark fisher, a senior editor with one of the leading newspapers, the washington postmark, thank you for joining us. day two of his transition, he has dumped chris christie as the leader of the transition team, installing mike pence. what is your take? mark: this is yet another change in his approach. we saw during the course of his campaign you change his campaign managers three times, and now again he has had to make a move because chris christie, governor of new jersey was caught in scandal in his home state. now we are seeing perhaps the insertion of controlled by the republican party as vice president elect mike pence plays a much more prominent role in the transition, which implies the party would be asserting itself in this early phase of transition. christopher: what are you hearing about the other key posts in the new administration? mark: we see from the makeup of this new transition team that donald trump is, as he has been throughout his career, loyal to the people that brought him to this point. we are seeing the key figures from the latter stages of the c

it reminds me of that remarkable piece i read by mark fisher in "the washington post" where he talked with senior executives who worked for donald trump in years past. it came to light in this piece that donald trump preferred the company of executive women in his inner circle, not men. which is -- sort of points out one of the unusual circumstances that we see. mark fisher interviewed a woman by the name of barbara rez, the former chief of donald trump's construction operation. she said donald trump preferred the company of women because he thought women were tougher, stronger, and smarter than men. he called them, and this was in his term, "killers," which she said was the highest form of compliment that donald trump would make. makes me wonder what kellyanne conway's future might be. perhaps communication director, maybe press secretary. -- working as equal partners to transform the federal government making it efficient, effective and productive. they also worked together with vice president-elect mike pence to help lead the transition process in the run-up to inauguration day. .

i was able to visit him along with my colleague mark fisher at trump tower two times and talks to them on the telephone in addition to that. other reporters talked to him at length. that does not include the many hours of access he provided to other reporters. clinton, for the most part, declined to do interviews. she did a couple. they worked very long. no comparison. donald trump has had a strategy of being more acceptable to the media. i have not talked to him since the day before the book came out. he tweeted, "don't buy the book ," which profited a lot of people to wonder about the book and buy it. during the process, he made himself very accessible, which we thought made for a deeper and fairer book. is it fair to say that those two approaches to dealing with you are historically the kinds of approaches that these two men candidates have taken -- these two candidates have taken? donald trump has built a career on access to the media. benefited,rump has gotten a lot of free media. in this case, we are asking for tough, important questions. we want that access. the post did an unus
