joining us to discuss is former lapd detective mark furhman and former nypd detective bo dietl.you see the connection between the rhetoric and what happened? >> absolutely, sean. it's almost marching orders. the way that everything's been built up over three months. you've got protests and demonstrators and riots. they're taking more and more advantage of law enforcement as politicians, not cops, politicians are pulling law enforcement back because they're afraid of seeming like they're the gustapo or they're aggressive. right now this is a time you need to be aggressive to stop things like this. what we heard was marching orders. and we had some idiot in baltimore listening. >> do you also connect this -- mark, this is very important. i don't believe -- every person we've had on this program. let me put it another way. that has disagreed with me in the michael brown case for example. i said, all right, give me some evidence from the case that's presented that shows that this is racial. they've never been able to provide that because i don't believe this was a racial case. the m

mark furhman is a former lapd detective and fox news contributor. good to see you tonight, sir. >> hi, shannon. >> how tough do you think it is in each of these individual cases they really are so different, the handful we're talking about, very different circumstances and very different findings when it comes to the witnesses, the grand jury, the circumstances of each of these cases. but do you find there's such a combustible conversation going on right now that no matter what happens if some of those basic outlines are there people are going to jump to certain conclusions on either side? >> absolutely. and the basic conclusions or the ingredients to these are if you have a white police officer even though his life's in jeopardy clearly on video, which you can see in this video, that somehow the white police officer is at fault and the facts and the forensics and your own eyes mean nothing. the very agenda, the narrative is that the police are racist if they're white enforcing the law, but if they're black and enforce the law, somehow they're not.

joining me mark furhman and another former nypd detective, bo dietl. joe, you were on the force. >> yeah, i was on the force then. i was a new york city detective back then in the 1970s. this is when the bla, the black liberation army, was going around and shooting cops. >> a lot of cops. >> in 1970 i think we had something like 13 cops killed by them and then 11 killed in '71. it was an ongoing effort. and we had the faln, that was the puerto rico group bombing everywhere. it was the weathermen, they were part. the weathermen was involved, but the black liberation army -- these are offshoots of the black panthers, joanne gunned down a new jersey state trooper on the new jersey turnpike, committed cold-blooded murder. she was sentenced to jail. she then subsequently escaped and went to cuba. and then you have the famous bomber for the faln, william morales doing all kinds of bombings where people were killed. these people all jumped over to cuba. like i said, there's about 70 fugitives there. before we do any diplomatic relations these things should b.

joining us now with much more we'll get back to mayor de blasio's comments, former lapd detective mark furhman. mark, what makes me so angry about this case, why are police officers ever arresting anybody for selling cigarettes in a city where you only get a summons if you're caught smoking pot? now, the tax on cigarettes between the city and the state is $6 a pack. the government is created a black market for cigarettes. and then cops are told because it increases the city's -- to go out and arrest people for selling cigarettes. how stupid is all of this from the get-go? >> well, sean, you know, you can tell from the video that these officers are in a soft clothes detail, like a vice detail, where they deal with, you know, things such as petty drugs, prostitution, gambling, selling illicit food, drugs, alcohol. and this is one of those small items. they're not out there just specifically for this. but it's almost not an issue. the issue is is he has become a problem that has gotten complaints from citizens and business owners. they are responding to those people to actually enforce the laws t
