many of those fired today were like mark gillison too emotional or angry to speak on camera about how they're being treated by krasner. they told me they were hauled in front of a human resources bureaucrat today and let go without any explanation. larry krasner himself was nowhere to be seen. from his office late today here's a portion of his statement "change is never easy. d.a. krasner was given a clear mandate from the voters for transformational change. today's actions were necessary to achieve that agenda. a retired veteran prosecutor blasted the d.a. as always having been soft on crime even back during krasner's days as a defense attorney. >> he's always had an agenda. he didn't really look at the evidence. he just painted this picture of law enforcement is bad. >> reporter: jim, tonight larry krasner issued a statement reassuring the public in that statement that their pending cases will be handled properly in the days and weeks ahead despite today's late hour shakeup even though the assistant district attorneys handling their cases before have now been fired. i'm vernon odom
