and joining me now is democratic senator mark kelly of arizona. member of the armed services and intelligence committees. and he was part of the group of bipartisan senators who met with president zelenskyy on friday. senator kelly, thank you so much for joining me. i think we're all reflecting on friday and that meeting. it was like nothing i've ever seen in my time working for two presidents, watching republican republicans in that oval office. but i wanted to start by just asking you about that meeting with zelensky. you attended, attended by a bipartisan group. what was that like, and what was the response in the private room to him? >> well, jen, i think. >> we all have a little bit of ptsd even though we weren't in the oval office meeting. right. i think all of us, you know, a lot of people across the country, collectively, i the contrast between the two meetings was quite remarkable with zelensky that morning. i think there were about ten, maybe a dozen of us democrats and republicans. it was very constructive. i would i would say one of the

i'm introducing a bicameral bipartisanship act, working with senator mark kelly from arizona actually went in the merchant marine academy. and it's not just focused on our navy. what the chinese have done has built a navy larger than ours on the backs of a massive investment. and there are commercial shipbuilding to the point that they have 7000 ships under chinese flag. they received 1500 orders for new ships just last year. we have less than 200 under american flag. and you know how many we receive? four new orders. five. so they have a 200 to 1 advantage. now in building commercial shipping tankers, cargo and others container ships. they could cut off our economy tomorrow if they told those ships to stop going to u.s. ports and they provide that scale steel, aluminum war cutters, welders, yard trades that you need and if, you know, if if you ordered a reagan kind of naval increase, you know, in january, when he if he comes in, then we don't have the industrial capacity to do it. and we've talked a lot about how to reinvest in that going. yeah, that was my next question. i actually

year, more opinion better ratings and i think if you look at megan kelly, tucker, you can just kind of continue that linear, and markse that contrary to the perception, straight up the middle, he doesn't see as trade-off, do you buy that? >> i will give you case study in our particular company. about five years ago we saw as an opportunity in the space that relates news content and we said, you know, we want to are actively invest and go after what we felt was and audience that was hungry for information in that platform. and so we, you know, hopefully we have nbc news now streaming platform, now the leading platform for news in streaming. five years ago, we said let's build a model, let's be fiscally disciplined, model for two-year even. we decided to run before we walked. fast-forward to today, five years later and by the way that encounter intuitive at the time we made the decision to go with hard news, lifestyle news, not with any perspective and any opinion which is counter the perception of what people thought. fast-forward to today, we broke even in 18 months and today it is not only very profitable but it's
