lieutenant mark rosen of the beverly hills police department did a quick interview where he describedene. >> beverly hills police department about 3:43 p.m. this afternoon, it was a request for medical assistance. we dispatched police officers and the fire department. the fire department was already on scene for the pre-grammy party, so they responded up with hotel security. they found miss houston unresponsive in her hotel room. they attempted to start resuscitation measures. they were not successful, unfortunately, and at 3:55 p.m. approximately she was pronounced dead in her hotel room. >> as we have been saying all evening, police have found no signs of foul play. no signs of drugs being involved, but obviously many, many tests have to be done before cause of death is determined. they haven't released any preliminary information about what cause of death might be. we have photos from the last time whitney houston was seen publicly, that was at the true nightclub in hollywood a couple of nights ago where she was attending another pre-grammy event. during the singing portion she loo

listen here to lieutenant mark rosen. >> so here's what i can tell you.th, at approximately 3:30 p.m., ms. houston was, apparently, discovered in her bathtub by a member of her personal staff. this was information that was relayed to the first responders that came on to the scene. prior to the fire department personnel and security team arriving on scene, ms. houston's body was pulled from the bathtub, and when first responders arrived on scene, she was unconscious and unresponsive. first aid and cpr measures were performed in an attempt to revive her, they were unsuccessful, and at approximately 3:55 p.m. on saturday, whitney houston was pronounced dead at the beverly hilton hotel. as of right now, there's an active investigation by the beverly hills police department. it's not prompted by her celebrity or notoriety, we would do in the case of any unattended or unexpected death of somebody of her age. as of right now, it's not a criminal investigation. um, we have concluded our portion of the investigation at the hotel. we have a team of investigators th
