rosen is live at the white house. james, what did you make of that press conference today? >> reporter: dana, good evening. the most marked contrast was that the latter openly spoke about what he called the islamist extremist terrorist threat whereas, president obama only spoke about the threat posed by, quote, violent extremism. where mr. cameron sought for the white house to try to persuade big technology firms to open up the encryption software to foreign governments for the purpose of combatting terrorism they papered over that. they agreed to work with the fbi and the nsa and the british counterparts, mi 5 and the general communications headquarters on the other. president obama told him his aids have been systematically working with private companies to address their privacy concerns along with the concerns with u.s. law enforcement. the two leaders joined forces to try to persuade the u.s. congress o to hold off on proposing fresh sanctions against iran. president obama argued that pushing that measure right now would torpedo the ongoing nuclear talks in geneva and prime minister cameron acknowledging that he's bee
