mark sayer, cbs 5. >>> hundreds of protesters greeted president obama on a brief fund raising stop here in san francisco today. many identified themselves as former obama supporters. some were there to protest a proposed transcontinental pipeline. some were upset about the economy and pot dispensaries. the president probably didn't hear any of it. his motorcade went around them to the w hotel where he warned donors at a $5,000 a plate luncheon that they have a lot of work to do. >> the one thing that we absolutely know know for sure is if we don't work harder than we did in 2008, the american people are going to think they are on their own. >>> meanwhile, one of the republicans vying to unseat the president is trying to get his campaign back on track with an aggressive new economic plan. texas governor visited south carolina to roll out his cuts, balance, and grow proposal. it calls for a balanced budget amendment, social programs reform, and a complete revamp of the tax code. >> it is a 20% flat tax simple enough that cow can file your taxes on a postcard. that's the size right there.

mark sayer is there right now and has a live report. mark?reporter: ken, san francisco park code section 3.12 that prohibits camping in city parks, and that includes inin tents. protestors wondering what my happen tonight. tonight, occupy sf protestors remain camped out in justin herman plaza. earlier, the protestors marched down market street and looped around to speak out against banks and corporate america. at one point, an officer pushed one protest tore back on the sidewalk but, otherwise, the police escorted the protest and even cleared the way as protestors moved through the financial district. while protestors made it clear there is no leader, per se, as a group they are planning on staying through the night. >> maintaining the space here includes having a place to protect us from the elements, that's sun, rain, as well as organize our space so that we can be effective in exercising our first amendment rights of organizing political demonstrations. >> reporter: overnight, 5 protestors were arrested as police and city public works work
