mark segraves is live near the scene and has more for us now. mark? >> reporter: barbara, this happened earlier this morning. i can tell you that a contractor working here at the wilson pool accidentally ruptured an acid line, causing a chemical spill. let's take a look at the pool right now. this is the wilson pool building. inside that building is where the accident happened. we can tell you that the victim, the contractor, was transported to a local hospital, priority one. if we look over to the left, you'll see wilson high school, which is connected to the pool, that school was evacuated. about 20 minutes ago, students were told they could go home for the day. up on that field at ft. reno park, there were hundreds of students. we heard a cheer go out that could have been heard for blocks around when the students got the word they could go home for the day. back here on the scene, you will see the hazmat crews. they have the chemical decontamination set up. that's where they're scrubbing down the hazmat teams going in and out of the wilson pool, tr

and now we have coverage with mark segraves. >> well, you can see behind me, this is the public library in wheeling, west virginia. this started thursday morning when the police sent them a picture here at the library sending them a picture of charles severance saying that this looks like the composite sketch of the suspect wanted in the alexandria murders. thursday, severance checked into a downtown hotel in wheeling, virginia, and the hotel known as the wheeling inn. he stayed there overnight, and the police could not find him there, and they started to search the city. and i talked to the chief of police in wheeling, and he said that severance was spotted inside of the library yesterday afternoon. they went inside with federal agents and local police, and arrested him without incident. i spoke to the library here at the ohio county library in downtown wheeling, and she told me that severance came in and presented a virginia state identification card to logon to the computer there, and spent two hours at the computer terminal before the police came in and arrested him there. and he ma
