. >> we want to start with our meteorologist mark tamayo. >> you know it's an active week when we start to number the storms. storm 2 rapidly approaching the bay area shoreline. as far as rainfall totals really adding up. the santa cruz mountains nearly 3.5" rainfall. santa rosa 2.6and livermore, nearly 1.5". san francisco nearly .75 inch, but everybody picking up more rain in the sunday forecast. on live stormtracker right now, heier few lingering rain and snow showers territories the east, towards the sawyer and towards cape mendocino. there is the circulation on the lift portion of your screen and that is our next storm. storm no. 2 for sunday will bring the chance of scattered thunderstorms and heavy rainfall with rainfall expectations 2-8.5" and another wind producer, winds gusting to 50 miles per hour. our forecast model at 6:00 heier.m., the rainband offshore, approaching our shoreline and look at what happens by 9:00 and 10:00? that rain basically expands over heier good portion of the bay area, packing moderate to heavy downpours. we'll continue to track the rain forecast as we

. >>> mark tamayo is here with the midweek forecast. stubborn low clouds and fog. we are expecting more sunshine as we head into the afternoon forecast. our live camera right now looking out towards the bay. in is the dividing line between the cloudy skies to the north and the clear skies to the south and still a lot of haze over san francisco bay. on stormtracker2, you can see the high clouds approaching northern california but we just had the low clouds and fog out towards the central valley. i was talking about the coverage focused up in the northern half of the region. you can see out towards santa rosa, petaluma, right around novato as well. still some stubborn overcast out towards 101. pushing the maps to the east bay out towards berkeley and orinda. partly cloudy skies for walnut creek and then pushing the maps to the south. north of the bay bridge, here we are -- here we have the clouds. san jose reporting just hazy sunshine. current numbers are in the upper 50s. in the 50s to the lower 60s. walnut creek right now checking in at 61. san jose in the upper 50

. >>> mark tamayo is tracking a warm up as the week goes on. >>> there was a lot of energy on bay arearessive waves crashing near bodega bay on the sonoma coast. waves in some areas were eight to 12 feet and are expected to get even bigger tomorrow up to 15 feet. >> so let's get more on the conditions from our meteorologist mark tamayo who's been tracking the storm that moved through today. so what are we looking at for the rest of the week. >> it's funny. one minute i look at the radar and it's fairly quiet. the next minute it starts flashing. yellows and reds moving into parts of the bay area. things aren't over just yet but the rainfall really adding up. these are the rain totals for the next three days. lake sonoma 4-inches of rain. sfo almost 2-inches and san francisco nearly 1.5. and we're still adding to those totals right now. here's a look at the radar, the loop. just over the past one hour, you will see activity out in parts of the north bay out into parts of santa rosa approaching san helena. you can see a good portion of the east bay covered out toward pleasanton. san ramon

our meteorologist mark tamayo has those details for us. >> no measurable rainfall in san francisco just amazing with that longstanding record. today the last day of january we're talking about those temperatures soaring back into the 70s, even a few neighborhoods around 80 degrees. so showing you the records from today. quite a few to show you. kentfield 57 degrees, san rafael in the upper 70s. lots of 70s for napa, san francisco, sfo and some more to report for you for oakland, the oakland airport, richmond in the mid-70s and san josi tieing a record 71 degrees. in fact, here is a snapshot of the highs from today across the entire bay area. widespread 70s out there and the 80 is showing newspaper santa rosa, the sonoma county airport. rainfall totes for january not impressive at all. santa rosa .07th for the entire month. just trace amounts for san francisco -- actually no rainfall for san francisco, and with that, that is the driest january on record. not only for san francisco, keeping the records back to 1850, but also for san josi. only .02" of a inch of rain to report, the second
