so mark twain got hit on both sides. anyway, as you recall, the story takes huckleberry finn, who runs away from his abusive father and partners with jim, the escaped slave, and they end up sailing down the mississippi on a raft. on their way they have several adventures, one of which involves picking up two men who were con artists called the duke and the king, because one claimed to be a duke, and the other one claimed to be the heir to the throne of france. needless to say, as you hear them talk, you realize that this is a little -- they're stretching the truth a bit. but what i'm doing is picking up on chapter 25, and that's where they come upon a town where a well known tanner named wilkes has just died, and he left his substantial fortune to two brothers of his who came from england. but the brothers had not arrived in time for his death, and so the duke and the king decide to change their personas and come in and claim to be the man's long lost brothers who were coming to visit. and here we start. the news was all
