[laughter] the mark twain quote was the two most important days of the life are the days you are born and the date you find out why. the second quote is from amanda's mom, kathy who told me to listen to the song blessing by a woman named laura. laura's husband was dying under of lung cancer. the refrain was what if the trials of this life, rain and storms, hard as night are your mercies in disguise. that's where where the title of the book comes from too. it was interesting and inspiring about the baxley family was they took something that could destroy a family and in a way, they came came together over it. they became stronger. they didn't let it destroy them. as her uncle, mike, said it one point they didn't want to sit there and be slain by this disease. i'm going to read an introduction and amanda will tell you a little bit. once again, i'm trying my best not to tell you what the story is. the two people amanda baxley loves the point begged her not to be tested, at least not now. please, her mother pleaded, your dad is so sick, were hurting so much already. her boyfriend implored
