marla tellez is live there this morning with what their new sedan can do. marla? >> reporter: good morning, brent. tesla motors here in fremont is very excited about the new vehicle, its new project. it is the plug-in all electric sedan called the model s sedan. now this is only the second vehicle produced by tesla. the first was the roadster. tesla plans to start delivering the sedan beginning in the middle of next year, so in 2012. and it has plans to produce various models for various pocketbooks. at the top of the line is the signature series said to run 300 miles on a single charge for a price of $77,000. i guess on the flip side you never have to pay for any gas. now, tesla says there's a mid-level model and a base level priced at $58,000 that will run about 160 miles on a single charge. each vehicle comes with a $7,500 tax credit. production starts here in fremont in 2012 and tesla hopes to ramp up production to 20,000 vehicles by 2013. of course, this is good news for the economy and especially the local economy here meaning more jobs. tesla hopes to emplo

i'm marla tellez in for diane dwyer. >>> we begin tonight with the toxic leak in san jose. they've called a shelter in place order in one neighborhood after hundreds of gallons of amoney a spilled at a water treatment plant. it happened on graystone lane near camden avenue. kimberly tere is there with the very latest. >> reporter: marla, san jose police had to go door to door north and northwest of here to let residents know of that shelter in place order, which as you mentioned has since been lifted. it was an ammonia leak earlier today that prompted the order in the first place. and also a quick response from san jose fire just after 11:00 this morning. fire officials say the leak inside the treatment plant is now well under control. 250 gallons of liquid amoney yo, though, leaked out of its tank into a secondary tank today, where it has been contained. according to the santa clara valley water district the plant has not been in operation since early this month because of some construction. but a worker doing routine checks fond the leak and alerted authorities. >> ammoni

marla teles is live with how they are recovering and the help they are looking for. marla? >> by the looks of the harbor, it's hard to tell it was just a week ago this harbor was hit by the strong tsunami surge. take a look for yourself. although the wind is beginning to pick up, it's a calm and quiet harbor. it's hard to see any of the damage at this hour. the harbor is still closed to traffic and that is really hurting the businesses here the harbor remains closed and the area is losing an estimated $206,000 a day. there five restaurants and cafes here and several other businesses while they are open, parking and access is limited they are not seeing the foot traffic they are used to. another concern is the next storm is expected to blow through this weekend. the national weather service said a high surf advisory will take effect and that lasts until saturday night, about 9:00 p.m. waves expected to reach 13 to 16 feet along the coast. the worry is of course just as the harbor gets back on its feet, the high surf will cause more danger. totals are $25 million. private pro
