drought conditions pick up over 50% is an extreme drought conditions which is the starker sheet of maroon. that is exceptional drought, that is the highest category, only about 5% of the state is categorized as being in exceptional drought conditions right now. we want to compare this to when we were in the peak of the last drop is back in 2014. they continue in 2015, a slow recovery, and at this point over 80% of the state was in extreme drought conditions and almost 60% of the state including almost all of the bay area was an exceptional drought conditions. now the concern is if we have another rainy season of below average rainfall, this could easily look like that, 12 months from now. we will keep looking for any hint of rain in the forecast but today all we had was fog thanks to that strong onshore winds but it finally backed away from the coast, seeing plenty of sunshine with high cloud cover now. 50 downtown, 60 in oakland but still warmer for livermore and concord in the mid to upper 70s to around 80 degrees but it is cool downtown for a dog walk. temperatures will stay in the 50s
