david smith, don velez, roberto marquez. >> good afternoon. i have been driving a cab for 30 years. i do take a lot of pride in what i do for a living. it's safe to say you have an overdose of the problems we are faced with as an industry, and this taxi medallion reformed proposed by the m.t.a. will not solve it. revoking pre-k medallions, skraming against post-k medallioning -- discriminating against post-k medallions, is not the way to reform nor revive the industry. a lot of what's being presented here today was not even discussed at the taxi task force meetings. i urge the m.t.a. to review those recommendations harder, and i remind the city and you as the supervisors, the board of supervisors, every city agency that the elephant in the room is the number of ubers and lyfts on our streets. we have been disappointed and frustrated with the city for not having the political will to challenge the p.u.c. and have uber and lyft regulated in a similar manner to taxis. they have technology should not exempt them from having to comply with the rules taking you from point a to point b for

miguel marquez, thank you very much. get some insight into the investigation from someone who understands how they work. joining us now, cnn law enforcement analyst, art roderick. art, you're a former assistant director of the u.s. marshall's office. what did you think of that profile we just heard of this suspect? >> you know, the thing that struck me is several of the phrases that miguel used is exactly what we heard about the mail bomber from just a couple of days ago. so it struck me that the description of both individuals, sort of a loner, disenfranchised, had some traumatic events in their life, we heard all of that same description of the mail bomber. so there's a lot of things that are similar in this particular case. it's, obviously, a horrible scenario here, but, you know, i would be interested to find out through this investigation what the triggering event was that caused him to pick a weapon up that day and go out and hit the -- >> the timing -- >> the timing. >> because that mail bomber also had racist, wh

supreme court and cnn's miguel marquez is there. miguel, even before justice kavanaugh was confirmed by the senate, people started gathering thereon, and they are growing in numbers and in their passion. what are you hearing from them? >> reporter: i wouldn't say their growing in numbers. the number have come down through the day, but there were many arrests before the process -- before the vote on his conformation began, and then most of the people crossed the street over to the supreme court where they stayed on the sidewalk for much of the day, and then right toward the end there was one protester who went up on the steps just about as justice kavanaugh was about to be sworn in, and the entire group rushed. this is the back entrance. we believe justice kavanaugh will leave soon. the crowd has been gathered here for some time, chanting, wanting to expression their displeasure with his being seated on the supreme court. there's also another exit down on the south side that he may competent from as well. a couple civilian vehicles l

let's go to cnn's miguel marquez live from pittsburgh.ng into these guns and looking into whether there's surveillance video of the attack. what else have you learned? >> reporter: the more we dig into robert bowers' life, the more disturbing a picture we find. fbi on the official side, fbi, atf, federal agencies are going through his home. they've gone through his car, they're looking for the surveillance video. but the picture we have of robert bowers for those who knew him for many, many years from, neighbors who saw him occasionally, this was a man who was almost -- he was opaque. he almost didn't exist in society. he was quiet, someone who knew him for many years said he was a lost soul, someone who couldn't hold a job, just moved around, seemed that he couldn't quite figure it out. somebody who never spoke up, someone who never uttered a bad word. was like a nonperson, basically, and that's what made it so difficult for them to understand that was the person. one woman i spoke to whose son went to school with him, her reaction was w

i want to go to miguel marquez at the supreme court. what's the latest where you are?er: they moved off the stairs and away from the doors of the supreme court. i want to show you some of what's happening here. they moved in with the barricades here and we have police officers from the u.s. capital across the street and from the supreme court who have come down. they moved successfully everybody off of the stairs. there were a few arrests it looks like at the top of the stairs where people would not move and there was even one protest who would climb on top of the women's statue. the contemplation of justice that got the crowd going again and police were able to get that protester off and i want to show you, in front of the supreme court. to show you how people are sort of waiting to see what happens. they know that brett kavanaugh is in there, he's about to be sworn in. the point of all of this, they say, is to have him hear them. he may have been confirmed. he may be sworn in, but they're not going to forget this. there was not one person i spoke to today who thought

miguel marquez on the scene outside the synagogue in pittsburgh.nsight into this investigation, we have with us our cnn law enforcement analyst, former fbi supervisory agent josh campbell and national security analyst, former assistant secretary at the department of homeland security, juliette ciam. i understand you have new information about some of the weapons the suspect used in the mass murder. >> that's right. we're learning new details. according to the criminal complaint filed by prosecutors, they indected four weapons were recovered at the scene of the synagogue shooting. a law enforcement official familiar with the scene tells us at least three of the weapons, .357 hand guns were purchased legally by the shooter. there have been questions remaining all the firearms were purchased legally, whether they were purchased illegally. three of them were lawfully purchased. it remains whether the fourth, the ar-15 rifle was purchased legally or illegally, but that's something we continue to dig into, i'm sure investigators are doing the same. the q

let's go to miguel marquez in new york city. miguel, we got an update on the bomb investigation from the police and the fbi late today. >> reporter: that's right, wolf. and i want to underscore what you talk about there that many of these devices they believe originated in florida because they were processed through a facility there in opa locka, florida. several of those devices were, many of these devices either at or on the way now to quantco, virginia, where the fbi has its headquarters, desperately trying to get at who is behind planting these devices. >> we continue to revise the american public to remain vigilant. >> reporter: a dire warning for all americans. there could be more potentially explosive devices out there. >> this is something that should be taken seriously the nypd and fbi were taking this seriously. we are treating them as live devices. as you see the way our bomb squad detectives went into cnn yesterday, as this has to be taken with the outmost seriousness. >> reporter: but offering assurances, hundreds o

cnn's national correspondent miguel marquez joins us. miguel, good evening to you.nforcement now analyzing some ten mail bombs? is the fbi any closer to identifying the suspect? >> reporter: possibly. we now know that all ten of those bombs, all ten of those packages, were sent through the postal system, which may be able to track them. it's still not clear how several of them did not have postmarks on them. very rare for packages, even if they're oddly sized not to have a postmark on them. law enforcement officials also saying that several of them went through the same facility in south florida. in opa-locka, florida. it's a mail processing center for the u.s. postal service. so they believe that several of those packages originated in that part of florida or in florida. they're not sure about the rest. also, most, if not all, of those devices are now in quantico, virginia, at the fbi's headquarters there where they will go through everything. not only the packaging, the tape, the stamps, any dna, any fingerprints, but also the devices, themselves, every part of th
