the largest crater will be the time mars science will get to mars as well. it is incredible to last that long. it has been lucky but really good. this mission coming to study the atmosphere of mars in a couple years and a couple more rovers' a couple years after that. and eventually bring these samples to earth in 2020 or 20205. this shows some images of the surface taken from orbit. many are processed in and to sun. the current mars reconnaissance or better, this telescope looking down at mars and returned incredible images of features as small as this picture of water. you can see individual rocks on the surface. they do a great job putting those out to the public showing what they show. they are artistic as well as scientifically amazing. that camera is studying the four sites we might visit with this rover. it is a robotic field geologist and roving chemistry laboratory as well as a weather station. it has a large robot arm and a camera similar to the one on pathfinder but also a laser that can fire and vaporize a rock 20 feet away. the science revolves

supervisor mar: you talked about school. i was making a note that it was mission high-school and everett middle school that were about a block and a block and a half away. >> thank you. the other thing that we talked about was potential for stock consolidation. we have suggested locations where we are looking for input from a variety of people on that. next, we have some candidates that we would consider as potential areas for optimization. it is our plan to discuss those with the citizens advisory council and then come back to you and move forward with some recommendations at that point. last time we also talked about engineering changes that would help to speed up the line. we looked at a number of locations for a second priority stop sign trash but -- traffic measures. a couple of general points on this. in some cases we have identified 16th and church, where there is clearly a benefit in installing the left turn aisle. we believe that it is worthwhile to pursue. our issue there was simply following the sometimes lengthy

potential for flowing water even today on mars. it's my opinion that we're going to need human explorers to go and definitively answer about whether there has been or is life on mars. that's an extraordinary scientific reason to go. and in addition long periods of stay for humans away from earth, mars seems like a logical place to go do that. so we do it because there's so many to know. we also do it because it's pushing the boundaries of what's possible is part of our dna as human beings, and it's part of the -- the dna of our country, that i would say. it's part of american dna. we're going to continue to push beyond where we have been before. and also because under taking audacious challengeses like saying we're going to send humans to mars drives our nation to strive and invent and ultimately prosper. i truly believe we must take on challenges as a country in order to continue to drive forward and prosper. so how are we going to do this? how are we going to create the future for human space flight when so many people are saying
