marsha clark, let me start with you because you've been exactly in the position of that prosecutor. you lost an incredibly high-profile case when everybody imagined that you were going to win. what is that moment like when you realize that it's going against all popular thought and actually you're going to lose the case? >> well, piers, to tell you the truth, it's really not like that because there was predictions we would lose this case or not be able to convict from long before we even started to pick the jury because of a variety of issues including celebrity, race, the rodney king riots. there was a lot of belief even before we finished the preliminary hearing there would be no way we could convict. so that belief was there and that understanding was there for quite some time, and then throughout the trial things occurred. so i cannot say -- >> let me rephrase the question. i suppose what i was getting at is where there's a popular belief that the person that you're prosecuting is is guilty, as, indeed, there has been in this case, forget for a moment the realities of o.j. simps

. >> i don't think they will be joining marsha clark in any kind of show in the near future. they will be back in the office. they will probably go their merry way. and they have lost a major murder case. >> okay, but does it hurt their career? are they damaged? >> i think it certainly hurts their career. many in the country thought she was guilty and she was acquitted. >> in your experience even after an acquittal like this one, will casey anthony ever be anybody but that woman that everybody thinks got off. >> remember the statement where do i get me reputation back? here is a situation where many people think she did it. she was acquitted. obviously 12 people think she did not do it. >> at least they couldn't prove it. >> or couldn't prove it. she did spend three years in jail. she probably will be released tomorrow and she will probably move and go somewhere else and try to start a new life. >> all right. thank you for your time today. we appreciate your insights. lesli, back to you. >> all right, derek, thank you for that. >>> president obama hosted his latest town hall

. >> in the meantime, do you remember marsha clark? she was the prosecutor in the o.j. simpson case in 1996. she gave an interview yesterday which is also very compelling and her final summation was that the casey anthony verdict is worse than o.j. being acquitted. here's what she says. in every case a defense attorney will do his or her best to give the jury a reason to doubt. they don't necessarily equate with a reasonable doubt. a reason does not equal reasonable. sometimes that distinction can get lost. >> right, exactly. and the backdrop, so different than o.j. because with o.j., you had racial overtones. you had the fact that he was a celebrity and then she goes on to write, marcia clark in "the daily beast" there were no bombshells that blew up in the prosecution's face like the mark fuhrman thing at the last minute and also all the collection questions about how stuff against o.j. was collected. it just seems like that this jury needed absolute certitude to convict her of anything. they had a whole list of things they could have convicted her. they wanted eviden

sat vanna gustry and marsha clark is also here. good morning to all of you. savannah, let me start with you, kerry sanders mentioned by his class, she could be out as early today. there's something vague about this. she got four years, but she's already served time. >> what's interesting about it, number one, let's make it clear, the judge maxed her out. the maximum penalty he could give her he did. she's already served three years. in florida you get credit for time served. there was some suspension here earlier in the morning, because she had a fraud conviction and was sentenced to time served on that, so people were wondering, would the judge count that 18 months toward time served for this conviction as well? the answer appears to be yes. my guess is the judge, perhaps even with help from the department of corrections has already done some calculations back in chambers. he indicated he thinks it's probably july or august she gets out, but he wants to crunch the numbers before giving an ultimate decision. >> what's clear, star, is the jury spoke, acquitted
