we start your friday morning with a sig alert in benicia, southbound 680 at marshview. this happened last night with a big rig that caught fire. the purple means a hard road closure. the red is the backup from there. it is beyond gold hill in the southbound direction. they don't expect this to be cleared for at least another hour. so of course, we're tracking that for you. your best alternate would be to take 80 to columbus parkway. exit at columbus parkway to lake herman road to cut across to 680 or go all the way to 780 to get back to 680 that way as well. we're following this with a sig alert, expected to be opened at 6:00 a.m. this morning.
