christie smith is live in martinez this morning. she's been following this story and has a look at what happened in that attack. christie? >> reporter: good morning to you. i can tell you the little boy's step grandfather is inside the county jail here in martinez. he's 52-year-old steven hayashi. he was booked on child endangerment and possessing mischiefious animal that causes death or great bodily injury. detectives say he was the owner of all five of the dogs. now, after spending most of the day at the concord police department he was let out wearing a ball cap and into a van and taken to county jail. i spoke this morning to two men who were released from jail. they tell me they were in a holding cell with him, and the story came on the news, and shortly thereafter he asked to be moved to a cell by himself. now, police say hayashi's three pit bulls attacked and killed 2-year-old jacob bisbee, they say. the little boy was inside his concord home, walked into the garage where the dogs were kept when they attacked. hayashi was not
