martha: absolutely. is making acomback, drawing -- comeback, drawing the line from kamala harris back to her husband's campaign of hope. it was interesting, she said hope has been buried for too long in the this country, and it's time to be hopeful again, kind of leapfrog over the current biden presidency. with that moment, i thought. we heard a lot of discussion from president obama about how, you know, people need to get back to being good to each other, being kind to each other, having integrity. i think, you know, a lot of people at the prior convention felt like they fit those categories as well. bret: we shouldn't overlook that, the speech before that, doug emhoff -- march a march yeah, he did a good job. bret: really, really personal, really engaging. it showed kamala harris in a personal light that was funny and kind of said, you know, that laugh, you know that the laugh? i love that a laugh. martha: yeah, that was a good moment. bret: taking, obviously, some critics taking a vulnerability of her

martha. the the one of the things that's changed, of course is we can call it we can cry about it, but we can also call it a democratized version of information. and presidents have tried to keep up with the technology, right. so now it's not just television, a cnn camera or an msnbc camera. that's but it's a ticktock camera. it's not really a camera, but it goes back out on tik-tok. so how have you seen whether it's crisis or otherwise this technology changing? well, the imagery of the white house is projected to the american people and the world. yeah, i've one of the areas i can see it is the interviews that president biden has chosen to do and he's chosen to to aim to particular audiences that at certain times. so he's wanted to get to young people for examples. so he had an interview with in the east room of the white house that the white house didn't didn't promote to that particular group. and they were six young people. and each one of them had an issue. abortion student loans, things

. >> yeah, martha. as you mentioned, that lead that donald trump had has been entirely erased and even turned around in kamala harris' direction in the last couple of weeks. harris now leading trump by five points among all adults in our polling and four points among registered voters. that's critical when you think about the battleground where this race remains in the mid-single digits. you see an even more dramatic change of what happened over the last month or so. joe biden was leading younger adults by two points. it's now harris plus 20. among black voters, biden was lead big a healthy 60. well, harris is up 72 among black voters. an eight-point jump among hispanic voters and this is a big one. independent voters, it was trump leading by four in our last poll. now it is harris up 11. that is a major, major turnaround from just a couple of weeks ago. >> martha: a major turnaround indeed, and voters' concerns about biden were driven by his age and his ability to perform the job as well as those most

martha. martha thank you very much. let's bring in jason miller. senior advisor.d to have you with us. you see these numbers. harris is closing the gap against former president trump doing far better than the sitting president joe biden was doing against him. what is your campaign strategy to turn that around at this point? >> hey, martha. great to be with you. a lot of that is behavioral democrats coming home. there is this artificial halo effect up kamala harris. somebody in the mainstream media had pushed joe biden to lead when it became clear that kamala harris would be the only one they can get behind and then had to go and make good on that. we talk about who can actually deliver, the thing we have seen in poll after poll, cnbc, cbs had new polls out within the last couple of days. who will make your financial situation better. there's only one answer, president trump. the greatest economy ever just a couple of short years ago. now president trump is saying he will fix it. look at his plans that he has put out there to continue to keep the tax cuts in place,
