martha mcsally has passed six bills already through the house. she will get a number of bills signed into law. she was the most productive legislator in congress last year. she got the most bills signed into law. and those bills make a difference. not only did she preserve a bill -10, which is important if you live in arizona, but she recognized women that served in world war ii and allow them to be buried in arlington national cemetery. she did things that mattered for her district. that is how she wins. they pay attention to their district, and work hard. we have good support networks to help them. they also understand how to run a campaign. they raised the money they need. they spent it in effective ways. i do not see a democratic wave coming. you know, usually there are canaries in the coal mine that show up before that indicate these -- scott brown before the 2010 wave was the canary in the coal mine that showed a wave coming. if the democrats are going to win moral victories, there will be any canaries announcing the problem in the coal min

let's discuss all of this with republican congresswoman martha mcsally. she joins us now. thank you for being here. >> thanks for having me on. >> you sit in the seat that gabby giffords once sat in, of course, the last member of congress to be shot before yesterday. and you, yourself, have faced threats. a tucson man calling your office saying he couldn't wait to pull the trigger, your days are numbered, because of your political beliefs and your support of president trump. what is going on? >> yeah. in fact, he's being arraigned tomorrow. >> good. >> he was indicted on three separate counts of threatening to kill a federal official and impede my ability to do my duties. so, this environment is like i've never seen in my lifetime and i think the temperature is way too hot. and i think, you know, the days after gabby was shot and six others were killed and, you know, yesterday we walked by the gabe zimmerman room, the first congressional staffer killed in the line of duty, in remembrance of him before we went to our briefing. and they came together. i wasn't here then, but

i know, you know, you mentioned gabby gifford is my colleague, martha mcsally holds the same seat hadeath threat. somebody arrested there just today, claudia tenney got an e-mail that said one down, 216 to go at my good riddance. that's being investigated now. so you know, i think today, everyone did come together and talk about what are some things that we can do to sort lower the temperature here, lower the tone, but also, look at the security, which we did, i worked on capitol hill in 90's when we had the shooting when we lost the two officers there. congressman delane's office friend of mine, majority leader. i don't know if it's majority leader but they were under their desks in fear, that's when we did security upgrades. and we have to look at that again, it's about protecting the public who visit our sites and also when we're out in the public and i know that's something that the offices have talked to us about our district offices and security there, and on a bipartisan basis today, we have the members together, a number of members mentioned concerns about the district offices

that's martha mcsally there. we'll listen in, congresswoman from arizona. ms. mcsally: i can tell you my community has experienced firsthand the type of violence that happened this morning. back in 2011. you may also know that about a month ago an individual was arrested by the f.b.i. for making death threats against myself and his arraignment is coming up at the end of the week. what happened this morning is a tragedy. obviously our prayers and thoughts are with steve scalise. and the other capitol police and staffers involved. it appears from what we know from the briefing and what we have seen that these brave capitol police, they saved so many lives this morning. they literally saved so many lives. i practice on the congressional football team and on the softball team and there are times where many of us are gathered together without a member of leadership and we don't have the capitol police there. so by the grace of god they were there this morning. they were able to save so many lives. we don't know yet what the motivation is behind the shooter. whoever
