those of the moral authorities the left are citing. >> martha: another question i would have for jim comey, chris wallace is going to do a great interview. he will speak with him this weekend, the whole question of president trump as the subject of their investigation because one of the things we have spoken a lot about is the fact that the president was never given a heads up, not given briefing. the fbi says we did but it was really general. they weren't telling him that they were actually concerned that there is people in the campaign that might be a problem. now they are saying the reason we didn't tell candidate trump when we briefed him was because essentially we thought he was the subject of the investigation. james comey told him three times he was not the subject of the investigation. >> only went to the doj and asked that very question, you give a defensive reef into candidate clinton. did you give a defensive briefing to candidate trump? the fsx donation was yes we gave one to candidate trump because the target of the investigation, in this case, michael flynn was sitting

to martha here in new york ken starr struck me a moment ago saying it was misconduct, not oversight. and everyone should be morallyged. >> i think you'll see reasons to substantiate that comment just given what we have now seen as you dig through and get deeper into this report. you have to question the motivation behind some of these actions that are seen as omissions or mistakes. i would also point out that we have to keep in mind the scope of the inspector general's work here. he was looking at the f.b.i. he is looking at a very finite group of people who work in the f.b.i. and perhaps some others, perhaps comey and mccabe who may have contributed and answered questions. when i spoke to george papadopoulos about this, the trigger for the beginning of this whole investigation last night, he said we're looking towards durham because we know he has spoken to these individuals in europe, australia and other places and knows more about the c.i.a. potential involvement in all of this. so this is step one. there is more to go as bill barr has said. i just think it's important to keep in mind. >> bill: michael horowitz
