i'm beginning to do some work on a martin delainey who is often thought of as the father of black nationalism and so i've begun doing some research on delainey, taught a seminar on te lainny, written a short paymenter that may evolve into a monograph. >> well, robert gooding-williams current book, "in the shadow of du bois," published by the university of harvard. professor gooding-williams teaches at the university of chicago. >> what are you reading this summer? booktv wallets to know. wants to know. >> well, i just finished reading "decision points" by president bush, and it was really good. i enjoyed the conversational tone that he took in describing his presidency and the events, the big events like 9/11 and some of the other events that were a part of his eight-year presidency. i'm in the process of getting to karl rove's new book as well as hank paulson's book. i don't know that anything has had more of lasting impact on what we're talking about today than what happened a couple of years ago with regard to the economic meltdown. and i think reading secretary paulson's new autobiography
