we lost martin luther king jr., we lost senator robert kennedy. the civil rights movement was underway, but far from settled, so we were grappling with real issues, and it drew us to public service. we continue to grapple with real issues. i hope it draws young people to public service. as i said, we are in as i said, we are an ever evolving country, and the issues we face as a country and a world are ever evolving, and it takes, different times require different actors and different actions. having been a part of the public life of this country for 50 years, i do see the change that can come. for example, the fact we have five women running for my seat out of a field of 11, that we are seeing more women be successful, at least in their primary fights to seek public office, that is one example of the positive change that has come, but it requires people becoming engaged in pushing for the change they seek. my call is genuine. there are real opportunities here, but it takes people getting engaged and making the investment, not only of their time, b
