police say 54-year-old martin nelis was a spokesman for the city of pleasant hill.officials say he was hit by a big rig on wednesay. the crash happened around 12:30 on reliez valley road near withers avenue in lafayette. this is a very narrow roadway... and there's no designated bike lane. it isn't clear which direction the big rig -- or nelis --- was heading. police were able to track down the truck and the driver involved. right now... they are asking witnesses to come forward. ( darya ) this morning we are getting a look at video of a rescue on cowell ranch state beach near half moon bay. c-h-p says a 10-year-old boy was playing on a cliff saturday afternoon... when he fell about 15 feet into the ocean. then his father went in after him. they were both struggling in the water when a good samaritan came to their rescue and was able to pull them out onto the beach. a c-h-p helicopter was called to the scene and air lifted all three people to safety. all of them are expected to be okay.
