i'm david asman, joining me liz peek, robert wolf, scott martin and steve forbes. well the clash between the fed and president trump escalating as ex-fed official bill dudley urges the central bank not to bail out an administration that keeps making in his words "bad choices" on trade policy in an op-ed, he says in part odd there's even an argue am that the election itself falls within the fed's perview. after all, trump's relationship arguably presents a threat to the u.s. and global economy to the fed's independence and its ability to achieve its employment and inflation objectives. fed officials should consider how their decisions will effect the political outcome in 2020. steve, that shocked even me and i thought i'd seen it all from the fed. what did you make of this? >> obviously his mindset is in 2016 when the fbi, cia, brennan and others try to manipulate the 2016 election that's why we got to get that report out by the way from attorney general barr and others on how they try to manipulate that election, and they're trying to do the same thing. he wants th

you never have enough time, wolf. >> very important point, martin savage. joining us now, the mayor of hollywood florida, josh levy. thanks so much for joining us. hollywood right between miami and ft. lauderdale. what are you doing right now to prepare for this hurricane? >> so thank you. as a city government, we of course are mobilizing all aspects of our emergency response teams. that includes utilities crews, public works, police, fire, rescue, the whole gamut. even our financial services. as a government we're preparing the city both in advance of a storm to protect it and also preparing for the response so that we will quickly address any issues should the storm come this way. >> are you considering an evacuation order or a curfew at this point? >> not the that point. we have declared a state of emergency as has the county. i think that once the national hurricane center issues a hurricane watch for the county, that's when evacuation orders will be issued for the beaches, typically known as evacuation zone a and then area b which is of course westward

joining me on the panel today is robert wolf, susan lee, scott martin, and my man steve forbes is with us as well. fears of a global recession driving investors to the safety of gold, which was way up today, soaring to its highest level since september 2013. bonds with a ten year treasury yield hitting lowest level since october 2016. at least one bond analyst says it could actually go negative after all is said and done. but is this all just an overreaction, or are we really on the brink of some kind of financial disaster? >> we're not on the brink, david, but the markets are worried that this trade war we're having with china may not be resolved the way they thought it would a few months ago. what would be the implications of that? creates more uncertainty. what's going to happen with the tariffs with autos and auto parts from europe? that could throw that continent into a recession. so people are hedging. they think something will be done with china, that it won't go over the precipice, but you have to hedge a bit. david: certainly hedging in gold, no doubt. >> and by the way, gold
