leigh martinez has the latest from the command headquarters. >> a large volunteer effort mobilized this weekend to search for lexus dupaty. their search efforts paid off when she was found unhurt this afternoon. but soon after she was found, word broke of another missing person here in vallejo. the volunteers decided to stay on and they're now searching for a missing elderly man. they need to search fast before bad weather rolls on. k9 teams and 80 volunteers searched for two days along the parkway for 26-year-old lexus dupaty. her family says she has a mental disorder and the mental capabilities of a 12-year-old disappearing from home saturday evening. after calling off the search at 11:00 p.m. last night, teams got to work early this morning and spread the news. dupaty was found this afternoon two miles from her home, not by crews, but by locals who recognized her picture. >> there were some passer-byes who happened to be driving along and they saw a young woman walking on the side of the road. they had a very distinctive lime green jacket, which was put out as a part of our descripti

lee march leigh martinez -- leigh martinez on the scene. >>reporter: they were able to temporarily shut off the gas. i got a whip of that natural gas a few seconds ago. it looks leak they might have hit that target. you can see them digging out here. this is at grand street and clement after. a driver crashed into this fence and hit a gas line and ended -- alameda fire crews got the call at 1:00 a.m. of a single vehicle crash. that blue bmw went through the fence, but before it landed in the parking lot, it severed a high pressure natural gas steel riser that caused the gas leak. fire crews needed to wait before they could rescue him. >> he wasn't trapped. he started to get out of the vehicle, and the police department announced over their pa for him to stay in the vehicle because it was a safe place with the ignition turned off. we waited for pg and e to clear the scene and a lot my crews to go in and safely remove him from the scene. he was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries. >> this wasn't easy. the pipe i
