these players have been out here for about three hours tonight while their teammate marvin sedna is in the hospital recovering from stab wounds to his hand and his back and he is one being reason they are still out here. everette crimson tied has new reason to another win, the star now is recovering from a serious stabbing. >> reporter: they were riding the excitement of their big win when hours later a group of these players went to a party. they were at the intersection of broadway and chestnut street walking home when he says a group across the street began throwing knives. they ran. >> one to have boys did not run, got caught or whatever and he went back to help him and that's when the trouble started. >> it's a shame that happened such a great kid like that especially what happened earlier that day how he won the game for us. >> reporter: now the team is left to practice without him. he was the only one injured in the scuffle. in fact the friend he went back to hope we are told walked away. >> everybody is praying for him and everything hoping that he's okay. >> reporter: and wbz

. >> reporter: david, this is a sad situation for the crimson tied marvin sedna. he led his team to a surprise win. only hours later he went from fighting to keep his team alive in playoffs to fighting for his life. >> a group of boys walking home on a saturday night after a great game. at a party and then some people on the other side of the street start and here you end up. is-it's disappointing. >> reporter: superintendent frederick forest ta said people were throwing knives as them. sedna was stabbed and seriously >> he is a great kid, good grades and great football player. it's really sad. >> reporter: the superintendent says many of the friends who were with him when it happened were teammates left to practice without him. the friend he was helping we are told walked away. >> everybody was sad because like they wouldn't think that would happen, so when you hear it coming from everette it's bad on everybody that lives here. >> reporter: we have been in touch with sedna's cousin said the surgery was successful and he was upgraded to critical. >>> so glad. mour
