. >> i'm mary bubala. health workers say many of the patients who contracted the swine flu at the downtown conference are visitors from out of town. live at hopkins plaza. more on the flu fears. good afternoon, gigi. >> reporter: good afternoon. veteran affairs workers are in town attending a training session, but it was cut short when they became sick with the h1n1 virus flu. the health department confirms it, 11 cases found at this federal office building in downtown. the patients worked with the veteran's affair department. they were out of town guests attending a training session when some came down with flu- like symptoms. they were asked to stay in their hotel rooms, now it may have three more suspected cases. in a written statement to eyewitness new, the health commissioner wrote we continue to monitor these cases and the spread of h1n1 virus flu here in the city. the out break in maryland continues and involves generally mild symptoms similar to the ordinary flu. >> reporter: they are likety flu sy
