marie and reed, back now studio. . >> marie: an awful situation. thank you for that live report. >> reed: now to the story that has a lot of locals on social media angry. word that mgm properties will announced. mgm resorts international saying today it will become the first major casino company to start charging visitors for parking. most of the casino giant's properties will charge $10 or less for overnight self-parking. the charges will start this spring. but at first las vegas locals will get a grace period. they can still park for free. mgm did not have a timeline for when the grace period will end but when it does your option to keep free parking will to be to enroll and earn points as an m life member. local response has already shown backlash. so we asked mgm why the changes now. >> anyone who travels anywhere else is -- knows that you pay for parking. if you go to the beach resort, anywhere. even downtown in las vegas you are paying for park. we're the last holdouts. mgm resort's biggest competitor caesar's who has no comment at the time.
