mary hunter? joe rodgers? edsel brown? >> good afternoon. it is indeed a pleasure to be here.i am edsel brown, and i am representing the maryland state naacp. i would like to say on behalf of our membership that the mortgage issue very adversely affected our community. we had a number of workshops and hearings around the state. i cannot tell you how many stories i could relate to you about horror stories that people experience. we appreciate this first step you are taking to make improvements in the status quo. a, well the bright lights are shining and everybody is here, everything is looking good. but this is a first step, not a last step. we are looking to improve the process, as we move forward. i have been involved in other regulatory processes. there are always holes in the fence. there are attorneys that will find the holes in the fence. let us make sure this is not a one-time thing over the next two or three years. i would like to mention a couple other things. one is information. information is power. organizations like the naacp and other community organizations need
