now let's get so the senate all the races are in front of belief you believe mary landrieu will lose.s one the democrats running are red state for re-election. all of those are either slightly behind, slightly ahead or dead even with the republican opponents. all four of those republican opponents share something in common. they are nowhere as well known as a democrat incumbent. i think the democrats stand a good chance in four seats. three democrat red seats in states that john mccain and mitt romney carried where the democrat incumbent saw the writing on the wall and pulled the rip cord in those three states. south dakota, montana. republican candidates have more cash on hand and lead in the public polls by between 14 and 20 points. i think those states are likely to go republican as well. >> so, if my prediction about landrieu is true, that's four pickups right there. now, in virginia. i think that warner will beat ed gillespie, right? >> well, we will see. you know, warner would have to be the favored can at a time because he has got a lot of money. wealthiest member of the united

mary landrieu, heidi highcamp, angus main, a broad section of the country breaking ranks to offer this copper plan. do you think it will work? >> i just want to say too much, too little, too late. will it work? it probably will work. the reason they are fixing it now, self-preservation is the first law of nature. shouldn't you try to fix a law before it's enacted? >> good question, doug. >> first of all, we've seen a lot of progress the last couple of months with the affordable care act. 6 million people signed up for exchanges. we are approaching the end of the sign-up period. we've got millions more through medicaid. there have been a lot of progress for the affordable care act. this is not really a break from the white house. what they are actually saying is we want to keep the law but fix it. that's where the public is. most importantly, when you look at these battleground states in the senate, that's where the voters and the states are. they don't want to repeal the affordable care act. they want to keep it and fix it when necessary. they are aligned with where their voters are. t

you think back to what happened in the fall when the president's lie of the year debacle blew up mary landrieu and a couple area democrats started pushing hard we have a plan, we're going to enrole all the people and it's going to be okay. we see they're not going to get the numbers, there's problems with the health law, you have this clear shot, this quick statistical glance at what the electorate looks like for the year. if this is what the electorate is shaping up to be, the democrats have bigger problems, maybe even than in 2010. >> i want to talk to you about this. chris is one of these guys who knows all these counties he can run the numbers, when i see as nancy pelosi points out, the seat was held by a republican for the last 58 years, i think, all right, the republican was probably going to win this in a special election, and then on the other hand i see larry saying, it liened democratic, how, why? how did we get in that position? >> the congressman who held the seat since richard milhous ni n nixon. the county changed underneathed political overlay what happened was, you have a lot o
