i'm marybeth marsden. the school's alumni association announced a lawsuit has been filed in baltimore county circuit court. last week the archdiocese announced the school would be closed as of this fall. christian schaffer has been following the story. he is live outside of the school tonight. chris? >> reporter: pretty big announcement tonight, marybeth. essentially two legal actions being taken by the association. number 1, they filed an injunction, trying to make a stand manage the baltimore county circuit court to keep the school open for this year. and number 2, they filed lawsuits against the church leaders that they feel are responsible for shutting the school down. >> as protesters chanted outside towson catholic high school. >> it's such a tight community. i love it here. and i really don't want to leave it. >> reporter: inside, parents and students met with administrators from other schools in the archdiocese. our cameras were not allowed in. but those parents and students also made tough stateme

i'm marybeth marsden. tonight police are investigating a deadly crash in east point involving a pedestrian. around 7:30 tonight, police say a car was traveling on north point boulevard when the car hit and we just learned killed a teenaged boy. the driver then ran into two other cars. >> it's a very violent collision. a lot of damage to three vehicles. and that's the attempt i had from the first unit we were working a rescue with three priority 1 patients which is a severely life-threatening situation. >> reporter: obviously police are still investigating. in all nine people were rushed to the hospital. two people, including the driver of the car are in serious condition tonight. >>> governor martin o'malley is speaking out tonight about the challenges of the juvenile justice system. his challenges come one week after a teenaged by under the department's care shot a 5-year- old girl in the head. delia goncalves is live at johns hopkins hospital where the victim is still very critically wounded. delia? >> r

i'm marybeth marsden. we're talking multiple shooting victims. the first happened in the middle river essex area. it was first reported as two related incidents. christian schaffer is on the scene and is learning more as we speak. chris? >> reporter: 9:30 this evening, police responding to a call for a shooting at starwood court, which is an apartment complex in the bolly's quarters area of pennsylvania. when rescuers arrived they did find one person shot at that location. but this scene has continued throughout the evening as police try to piece together exactly what happened here. take a look behind me. you'll see the police car that has stopped behind a lincoln car that is stopped here at the intersection of philadelphia road. if you take a closer look, behind that lincoln is a small gas can. that's right. apparently a car that may have been involved at that shooting over on starwood court, there was a driver driving a second man to franklin square hospital, which is only about a quarter mile away from this location, but didn't make it all the

i'm marybeth marsden. a southwest airlines plane bound for bwi had to make an emergency landing in west virginia tonight after a football-sized hole in the fuselage caused the cabin to depressurize. here is video of the plane on the ground in charleston, west virginia. it landed about 6:00 tonight. airline officials say the problem on the boeing 767 happened at about 30,000 feet. the plane's oxygen masks did deploy. flight 2294 left nashville, bound for baltimore with 131 passengers and crew on board. another southwest jet was sent to pick the passengers up and take them to bwi, and we've just received word that that new plane has landed safely. there are no reports of injuries. and abc 2 news crew is also on the way to bwi at this hour. so be sure to stay with abc 2 news and abc2news.com for more information on the emergency landing. we've also provided a link to bwi. if you have any questions or concerns tonight. >>> now an update to the breaking news we have been covering all night. a four-hour barricad

i'm marybeth marsden. it started with one man shot in a northeast baltimore alley.arricade in northeast baltimore. abc 2 news reporter brian kuebler joins us now from along the alameda. >> reporter: the 3000 block of the alameda is still blocked off as police continue the try and contact the suspect they believe is still in one of these homes. let's show you videotape we shot earlier today. police say this all started with a murder. a man in his late teens, early 20s was shot several times in a nearby alley. police then believe the suspect ran into a home on this block. they have spent the better part of this late afternoon trying to reach those suspects or suspect. the s.w.a.t. team is here as well as homicide and the k-9 unit. now police say they did take at least one suspect into custody already, but is still trying to reach another one. again, they believe may be held up in one of these homes. back out here live now, you can tell this is still a very busy and very active scene as this block continues to be roped off with crime tape. this is still a very much con
