if you look at the main thoroughfares, this is maryland avenue. one of the main thoroughfares that goes into the heart of downtown rockville. that is not completely clear. we can see some residue, some snow and ice as well. the point here is that there are a number of roads in montgomery county that are very messy this morning. some 2600 maryland state highway administration trucks were out all day yesterday. not counting the county trucks that were working allegedly to try to clean everything up and stay on top of this storm yesterday. it was not a whole lot of snow, but what happened was you had the freezing rain and the sleet before the snow came down, so there was a sheet of ice underneath the snow and a number of accidents on 270 and some of the main thoroughfares. if you are coming out this morning, he didn't mind it is not 100% out here. take it easy, take it slow. some of these roads still look very messy. john gonzalez, abc 7 news. district residents heads up, d.c. has not lifted it's no emergence be -- emergent -- its snow emergency. if

mostly all snow in western maryland and still looking at mostly rain in the very southern tip of maryland northern neck of virginia but once we get into the afternoon hours on monday, it's mostly all snow even in the beltway and the mix to snow still hanging on but only in southern maryland and the eastern shore, so significant snowfall accumulations are likely throughout the entire metro. two components to this system that we can see right now, we are still tracking this system that is bringing the rain to southern california, it's starting to develop into what we call a four corners low, you can see the four corner states here and that is ejecting out of the rockies and will provide the moisture to coincide with the cold air that right now is still locked up in the upper plains. you can see that polar jet running along and bringing some of those snow showers. so in the metro we are still in good shape right now, we have one more day to make your preparations before this storm arrives and you have one more night to get out and enjoy before the storm arrives as well. overnight tonight, pa
