firefighters are still cleaning up at golden gate and masonic. the accident started on turk street the next block up. the man a 55-year-old man was killed he was walking across turk apparently crossing masonic when he was hit by a vehicle. his body flew several yards and the driver took off. police believe the driver was going 50 miles an hour to have thrown the body that far. then that driver took off. it started around 2:30 anded at st. mary's medical center. he crashed there after police started chasing this guy. they noticed in between the hit- and-run and the crash at st. mary's, they noticed a white toyota driving and they noticed it had a lot of damage so they started following that car. apparently it had already hit several parked cars in between thatth time frame so police are trying to piece this together but they have the driver in custody. he has some facial injuries according to police. he is also facing serious charges. vehicular manslaughter. a cab driver saw the body in the street and reported that to police. a separate cab driver
