that meant running past clear lake..and running through the traffic of mason city. they have seen many interesting things along the way. both mentioned a siting in mitchell county we were running by a barn with doves circling around. it was beautiful. on this day , before the run there was a visit to the site of the plane crash that killed buddy holly, richie valens and the big bopper. peggy sue, donna, chantilly lace. later, on the run they passed in clear lake, site of holly's final performance. ,i am going to pop in. never been here before. excited to see what's inside. the stop was brief. there were many miles to go. dennis and daren would finish at nora springs after runnnng 26 point two five miles in 3 hours, 47 minutes and 51 seconds. that means 86 counties down, 13 to go. i don't think it will come into focus until we see the end of the 99th county. it is almost a bittersweet thing. we have done so many, had a lot of fun but we are looking forward to the end... with team 99 counties in north central iowa, john campbell for tv9 news. you can't beat this..usua
