the flags were stolen from osprey park in mastic beach. long island reporter kristin thorne is live in shirley with more details on this. kristin? >> reporter: well, shirleen, we just caught up with police here at the 7th precinct in shirley. reason why they are putting out the call to the public now for help is because they really have exhausted all their investigative leads since august. so they really want anyone who may know these people to come forward. they want to find the people responsible. this is the video which shows at this point in the video, two people walking up to this flag pole at osprey park in mastic beach. there's a third person standing by there who was involved and another part of the video but either way you see the two struggle to get the northwestern flag down and at the end of it just tear it right off. police say they not only stole the american flag but a pow flag. and a town of brookhaven flag. police say although it's particularly painful to talk day, it's disgraceful any time of the year. >> the persons invo
