matt miller with how the etf markets have been holding up. matt: thanks very much. mlpts.ut a wild ride. a variety of rafters. here to discuss that is our eta analyst. talk to me about what we have seen happening in oil this week. that is why we are focusing on mlp's. have a seriouss problem because they have been hit from both sides. betty: these are master limited partnership with talking about, different tax treatment. eric: these are companies that have to pass on 90% of the income. the etf's come along and wrap up a bunch of them -- betty: you can buy direct -- matt: you can buy directly into mlp's. eric: they come and wrap them up. of about 6-10%. this was a big fat pitch, one adviser told me, because i can get a big deal and not take on that much risk. this is the downside to that from this environment. is down 31%. no open and fund -- it is structured as a c corporation. a tax of 34%. does, youhe index will fall short of it. that has been a real issue with the mlp's. matt: there is one from jpmorgan that is etn. eric: they are just like any other stock you may buy.

david: matt, bring us up-to-date. matt: down is where the markets are going right now. looking at the kleins of 101% across the board. the dow jones industrial is looking at a drop of 221 points. if you look at the bloomberg seeh in the s&p, here you markets again. take a look at the s&p. it is coming down. a little bit of a bounds. we are only 10 minutes into trading. pull up the bloomberg chart. you can see all of the industry groups are down. the biggest losers are materials and energy. they were the biggest winners yesterday. but financials and i.t. are getting crushed as well. utilities and telecoms, consumer staples, those are very defensive groups. i will say it again. investors are running for safety. if they are not getting out of equities and going into bonds, they are at least going to the safer parts of the market. move functionhe to see what is up and what is down here. obviously, most everything is down. 487 stocks are down right now. only 18 are up in the s&p 500. the biggest losers you would expect, the big energy names. southwestern, chesapeake, range .

"action news" reporter katherine scott is live outside the home on the 6100 block of reed street in the lawncrest section of the city. katherine. >> reporter: matt, police believe the man came here to rob drug money from the home but now he's dead after the homeowner pulled his own weapon and you can see that police remain on the scene here in lawncrest on the 6100 block of reed street. they were initially called around 11:30 last night. police say the 35-year-old man who was killed barged through the front door with a gun in his hands and announced a robbery to the five people inside. that's when police say the 27-year-old homeowner took out his gun and fired at least four shots. the intruder was hit twice and collapsed dropping his handgun by his feet. meanwhile two women who lived here had gone to get their own semi automatics but don't appear to have used them. when police arrived they f
