fox5's matt ackland is live on the scene tonight with the latest. reporter: shawn you're right this could really be a headache if you're heading into d.c. from frederick. the reason why, that bridge along 355, it's not safe anymore for cars to travel over. so, authorities are having to shut it down. that means those of you who use 270, well, you could see a lot more traffic for the next two months. let's take you to video now. this is skyf tow truck was brought in to move a trash truck. that's when part of the bridge was damaged. that forced authorities to close the bridge and now new beams will have to be made. they'll have to be put in place. and they'll have to be inspected. >> new steel beams fabricated because they just simply don't have these in stock anymore. they actually have to be made installed and inspected before the bridge can reopen. >> reporter: so, where is this detour? it's on 355. it's going to happen between finger board road and buckeystown pike. that's the area where you're going to have to get off of 355 and then get onto i-270
